Watch small contributions compound.
Start with a balance, add a monthly contribution and see the future value split into money you paid in and interest earned.

Contributions are added monthly. A nominal annual return does not guarantee the same result every year, and investments can lose value.

Good to know
The result is a guide, not a guarantee.
This calculator runs entirely in your browser. Check the assumptions, keep the inputs realistic, and use the result as a starting point for a decision.
Nominal pre-tax projection with a constant return. Not an investment recommendation or a guarantee.
How are monthly contributions handled?
Contributions are added every month. You can add them at the end of the month or the start. End-of-month is the usual convention for regular savings and retirement contributions.
What does compounding frequency change?
It changes the effective monthly rate used in the model. More frequent compounding produces a slightly higher future value for the same nominal annual return.
Is the annual return guaranteed?
No. A fixed return is a modeling assumption. Real investments fluctuate, charge fees and can lose value. Use a range of returns rather than a single optimistic number.
Does this include taxes or inflation?
No. The result is a pre-tax nominal balance. Inflation reduces purchasing power, and account taxes and fees depend on where the money is invested.
