Reference rates are published by the European Central Bank and served by Frankfurter. Banks, cards and transfer services add their own spread and fees.
Only the currency pair and date are requested. The amount you type stays in your browser.
Good to know
The result is a guide, not a guarantee.
This calculator runs entirely in your browser. Check the assumptions, keep the inputs realistic, and use the result as a starting point for a decision.
Reference rates are not a bank quote. Your card or transfer service will apply its own rate and fees.
Where do the exchange rates come from?
The rates are European Central Bank reference rates, served by the free Frankfurter API. They are published on working days and are meant for reference and planning, not for settling a transaction.
Why is my bank or card rate different?
Banks, card networks and transfer services add a spread and may charge a fee. They also use live market rates rather than a daily reference rate. The difference is the cost of the conversion, not an error in this tool.
Which currencies are supported?
Frankfurter covers 30 major currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CAD, AUD, CHF, CNY and INR. It does not cover cryptocurrencies or every world currency.
Can I use a historical date?
Yes. Pick a date and the converter requests that day's reference rate. Weekends and holidays have no new rate, so the service returns the previous working day's rate and shows the actual date used.
Is the amount I enter sent anywhere?
No. The request contains only the base currency and date. Your amount, and any personal information, stays in your browser.
Does this include fees or taxes?
No. It converts at the reference rate only. Add your bank's spread, transfer fee or card fee separately if you need the real cost.
