HEIC support varies by browser. This tool decodes the file locally before exporting JPG, so the original image is never uploaded.

Good to know

The result is a guide, not a guarantee.

This calculator runs entirely in your browser. Check the assumptions, keep the inputs realistic, and use the result as a starting point for a decision.

Local conversion. HEIC support depends on the browser's WebAssembly performance and available memory.

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the photo format Apple uses by default on many iPhones. It saves space, but some apps and websites expect JPG or PNG instead.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The HEIC decoder and JPEG encoder run in your browser. Photos are never sent to simplytools.us or a third party.

Why does conversion take a while?

HEIC decoding is more demanding than JPG decoding, especially for large photos or batches. Conversion is done one image at a time to avoid exhausting device memory.

Does the JPG keep the original quality?

JPG is lossy, so some detail is discarded. The default quality is high. Raise the slider if you need a cleaner file and can accept a larger download.

Will location and camera metadata be kept?

The conversion re-encodes the pixels and does not deliberately carry EXIF metadata into the JPG. Assume that location and camera details are removed.
