Plot y = f(x) and compare curves.

Enter one or more functions, change the window and angle mode, then export the sampled values. Everything runs in your browser.

How it works

Plotting functions without a graphing calculator

A function plotter samples an expression at many x values and connects the valid results. This tool plots explicit functions of x, compares several curves and exports the sampled pairs.

Domain and gaps

The plotter skips points that are undefined or non-real, such as the square root of a negative number or division by zero. When the values jump sharply, it breaks the line instead of drawing a misleading bridge across an asymptote.

Angles and constants

Trigonometric functions use radians by default, but you can switch to degrees. Constants such as pi, e, tau and phi are available, and implicit multiplication lets you write 2x instead of 2*x.

Window and sampling

The view window controls both the visible range and the number of samples. A very wide window can make narrow features look coarse; a narrow window samples more densely. Export CSV when you need the exact pairs for another tool.

Good to know

The result is a guide, not a guarantee.

This calculator runs entirely in your browser. Check the assumptions, keep the inputs realistic, and use the result as a starting point for a decision.

The plotter samples a finite number of points, so very steep curves or narrow features can look coarse. Increase the window detail by narrowing the x range.

How do I plot an equation?

Type the right-hand side of y = f(x) into an equation row. For example, enter x^2, sin(x) or 2x + 1. Press Add to compare more equations, and each curve gets its own color.

Which functions and constants are supported?

The plotter supports arithmetic, powers, square roots, logarithms, exponentials, trigonometry, hyperbolic functions, absolute values and constants such as pi and e. Implicit multiplication works, so 2x is read as 2 times x.

Can I compare several equations?

Yes. Add up to eight equations. Each one has a color, a visibility toggle and its own error message, so you can compare a function with its derivative, a shifted version or an unrelated curve.

What does the angle mode change?

Degree mode evaluates sin, cos, tan and their inverses in degrees. Radian mode uses radians. For a plot of sin(x) over a wide x range, radians usually give the familiar wave.

Why does part of a curve disappear?

Points outside the real domain are skipped. For example, sqrt(x) has no real values for negative x, and 1/x has a gap at zero. The plotter breaks the line at those gaps instead of drawing a false connection.

Can I export the plotted values?

Yes. Download CSV writes one row per sampled point with the expression, x and y columns. Use a smaller or larger x range to control the sample density.

Is this a full graphing calculator?

No. It plots explicit functions of x. It does not solve equations, find intersections, shade inequalities or work with implicit curves such as x^2 + y^2 = 1.
