What time is it around the world?

Compare live clocks for major cities, check UTC offsets and avoid scheduling across the wrong side of midnight.

How it works

Why cities show different times

Every clock shows the same instant, but local time depends on the time zone. This world clock converts one instant into the wall-clock time used in each city.

Offsets and daylight saving

A time zone is a set of rules, not a fixed offset. Many places shift by an hour in summer, and some shift by 30 or 45 minutes. The IANA database in your browser applies the rule that is in effect on the selected date.

Dates can differ

A large offset can push a city into tomorrow or yesterday relative to you. That is why scheduling tools show both the time and the date. Always confirm the date, not just the hour, for international meetings.

Planning across zones

Pick a reference city, compare the offsets, and look for a window that falls inside normal working hours for everyone. Check again near daylight-saving changeover dates, because offsets can move by an hour.

Good to know

The result is a guide, not a guarantee.

This calculator runs entirely in your browser. Check the assumptions, keep the inputs realistic, and use the result as a starting point for a decision.

Offsets are based on the IANA time zone database in your browser. A government can change a zone's rules; keep that in mind for dates far in the future.

How does the world clock work?

Your device supplies the current instant, and each city is formatted with the browser's IANA time zone database. That means daylight-saving changes and historical offsets are handled by the same rules your operating system uses.

Does it show daylight saving time?

Yes. The offset and short zone name reflect the rules for the selected date. For example, New York shows UTC−5 in winter and UTC−4 during daylight saving time.

Can I add or remove cities?

Yes. Search by city, country or time zone, then add or remove any entry. The comparison cards show the time, date, UTC offset and whether the city is on the same day as you.

Why is a city showing tomorrow or yesterday?

Time zones can be up to a full day apart. The label compares the city's calendar date with your local date, so Tokyo may already be on tomorrow's date while Los Angeles is still on today's.

Does the clock use my location?

No. It reads your device's current time and time zone, but it does not request GPS or send your location to a server. The city list is fixed and local.

Can I use a 12-hour clock?

Yes. Switch between 24-hour and 12-hour time at the top of the tool. The choice applies to the local clock and every city card.

Is this useful for scheduling meetings?

It helps you see everyone's current time and date. For a future meeting, remember that offsets can change when daylight saving starts or ends, so check the date you are planning for.
